Gay couples and single men who desire to have children will need an egg donor and a gestational carrier.
A gestational carrier carries the embryos created from the eggs of another woman. The gestational carrier does not have a biological connection to the embryos she carries.
An egg donor donates her eggs for use in the process of in vitro fertilization (IVF). An egg donor can be anonymous or known to the couple (i.e., a relative or friend).
The partner(s) wishing to donate sperm will undergo semen testing prior to treatment cycle, The couple will select one of our CARE egg donors, or a donor from one of the reputable agencies we work with. Alternatively, a relative or friend may also be a potential egg donor. Once the couple has identified both gestational carrier and egg donor, the donated eggs are inseminated in the IVF laboratory with the sperm of one or both male partners. Embryos are then transferred o the uterus of the gestational carrier, who has been taking hormones to prepare her uterus for receipt of the embryos.
